Just finished voting on Magazine Cover Revisited and NO baby photos! I was expecting quite a few. Just when you think you know what to expect the opposite happens..

I thought the entries were on the whole very good. Well done you lot..

Homer Simpson is the only sane person in the world!!

Purple is a fruit!

You have tried your best and failed, the lesson is....never try!

Its sad but I know more quotes from Homer Jay than from Shakespeare!

I started a little personal project a couple months ago to see how often the so-called "cliche" shots - those subjects that everyone complains show up in every challenge - really show up. I only spent about an hour and only got through four or five challenges (one of my more short-lived urges), but the results were definitely going in the direction I expected: The subjects that people think show up by the boatload in every challenge - sunsets, babies, flowers, cats, etc. - really don't show up all that often. What is probably a little more to the point is that they have occasion to show up in challenges where they don't fit too well, and so they stand out more in those situations. And, I think that also they tend to be the more snapshoty quality pictures, which makes them stand out even more negatively.
