I was attempting to provide a border that would allow the photo to flow from the background and realized that DPC provides it's own border to the image. Is there any way to remove this as it is not part of the photograph itself? Or is there some reason that it is there that I am not privy too?

Basically, this is what is happening...

And this is what I was hoping for: Link to sample

EDIT: Interesting. On the thumbnail, it doesn't occur. It only adds the border in the picture view page and the challenge voting page.

No. there is not a way to remove that. It is part of the code.

I figured it was part of the code. What I was asking was, is there any reason that it's part of the code or could it be removed from the code? You know, as a 'web site suggestion'. ;-) I hope I am not sounding selfish here, but I think most people would agree that there is no need for the code to add a border to the photograph. Personally, I think it is removing artistic freedom from the submitters.

Then again, I may be the only person in this boat. If so, I'll just sail away.

(Oh, and Karen, thanks for fixing my goof-up in the title.)

I guess receiving misdirected praise is a peril of wearing a purple shirt. That being said, thanks for taking the suggestion into consideration. And that thanks is directed appropriately. ;-)
