Ok, in just the past few days, one of my images has jumped in views by more than 1000. Can anyone help me figure it out, such as where all the views are coming from? Its this image:
It COULD be that we recently saw this model & told her about how well this shot has done (she was at the ceremony last Friday night, when Glenda & I won the car). I'd actually be honored if she'd driven that much traffic to my port, but I'm really curious how to find out WHERE this traffic is coming from. Kinda wish we had a way to attach Google Analytics or StatCounter to our profiles...
Anyone? :D |

Someone probably linked (or even hotlinked - can that be done from dpc?) it in a thread somewhere... so that could or could not have been her - might be on her website. Only the site admin would be able to tell you where the traffic came from i would imagine. |

This question keeps coming up. I wonder if contacting Langdon could get us some information? Like, is it possible? Is it easy? Could you do it for us if we ask directly, or explain why not? I hope this doesn't sound snarky, because it's not.
But we keep asking, nobody here knows, and Langdon could settle it one way or the other, once and for all. :) |

yeah, what DID happen to talk of several upgrades around DPC????? wasn't there to be some 'big announcement'? hmmmmmmmm
Sheila, you're hereby promoted to lead-idea-gatherer-&-submitterer ;)
(Funny how our perspective changes... when I was photographing Ms. Lee, I barely even noticed what she wasn't wearing) I was too darned busy tryin to set the lighting & asking Glenda to 'stir up more bubbles'! :D |

You may want to look at tineye.com. Right now it is in beta version, but is an image recognition software that finds your photos on the net. I put in the photo below and it showed up 35 times. :O. Of course it didn't show the dpc image and it doesn't seem to bring up flickr photos. but it is still beta and building there database, so they say. It is a start. I tried your image but showed no results. Could become very useful I think though. It is beta so you have to sign up and then get accepted when they have room.
<--all over the net, :P. And its all over as a gif with rain, not even my version... |

Hey, that's kind of cool.
Does anybody know how to read this particular middle eastern language? It seems my ladybugs from this shot:
has acquired a pithy saying (hopefully)...
here (scroll down a bit).
It looks like a tutorial for how to add a sun and flare effect...

I signed up the other night. It took almost 67 minutes for them to have room. :) Kind of a cool little website. |

Ugh!! You'd think if they were going to teach how to add a sun they'd tell you to make sure it's matching the direction the picture's lighting comes from.
(and I'm sure the saying is something about animal abuse ;) ) |

ALRIGHT! I confess!! I saw that pic in your portfolio and I just kept clicking refresh hoping she would get up out of that bathtub! I gave up after several hours. She didn't even finish her wine. :( |

I think it's Farsi, and the top photo is a Norenko chicken with a flare. The saying is "with a flare you'll be a top cock!"
On the next image of the swamp, I believe it says; "Owners of Canon 5D cameras should avoid stumbling here, God willing. "
And on the third image quoted above it says; "Even with a flare everyone is aware these are dead bugs."
Snort! |
