I had fun looking around for my most popular shots. It seems I have somewhat of a cult following in Iran. :) Actually most shots were simply people posting things (which doesn't bother me) up. Laine's Blue Eyes...Green Nose shot did show up on a Hungarian site which had some erotica on it and required a "I'm 18" click to get in. That bothered me a bit. It looked like the thread itself was harmless enough. There was a poem posted above the picture, but it's all in Hungarian and Babelfish doesn't translate that. I found a number of DPC shots (as well as mine) on a French blog. The gal seems to like ladybugs.

I just found one of mine on a Russian (I think) news site.

They also have a "submit website" feature a the top for them to possibly start crawling other websites. I put in Flickr and a couple others, maybe let them know if you know of any other sites.

thats strange because I applied and immediately recieved an invite, literally 2 minutes later.. maybe they are vetting the email addresses, mine has a photography related domain name, so maybe thats why I was accepted so quickly?

I used a gmail address and got mine within minutes too. Though I'm not finding it too useful. I put in an image that has sold on stock sites at least 40 times, I'm sure it's been used on websites, but not one instance of it showed up anywhere. Other images I put in showed up on 1 stock site.

anyone know what that says? I found it on a bunch of Arabic(I think)websites.

No idea, but the site is Saudi Arabian. Given the prohibition on women showing bare shoulders in many Muslim states, this is like Arabic porn. :-/

I should make it MORE of a habit to see if there exists a previous thread. Good to see that other people have found it a useful tool...will be sending a request for invite to see if my works are being appropriated elsewhere.

This is one of the most useful tips I've ever seen on DPC. Thanks for sharing!

Got my invite quickly after asking. I've only found a couple of uses of my images, including one very nice site that seems to be about sharing photos people like. The really nice thing is they feature a whole box about the photo and multiple links to the original, crediting the photographer.

What a concept!

Sounds like a great site!

This one? I tried it and got zero results. Maybe I am using it wrong, I went to the photo page, right clicked view image, then copied the url and posted it. How did you do it?

No, this one:

And a neat thing about TinEye is that the image is even pulled up when I search on a different crop, though it catches fewer links:

Yeah that shows up a bunch. :P
I like the little toggle button, it shows you the match too. Now I hope they just keep building up more places to search the web.

I found a bunch of my "dude in the rain" shot hosted on imageshack. I wonder how hard it would be to get rid of from there...
