| I have a "tripod" (really a legged monopod), which i want to convert to a light stand for some strobist work. I got myself an umbrella/flash clamp, but didnt realise that i needed a light stand to mount it on and thought it might be compatible with a screw mount. So i am looking for how i can change the screw mount into what i think is called a "Spigot" (basically a bit of solid piping which tapers slightly). I have looked for things like this online, but dont really know what i am looking for. Can anyone help? |

Adapter
Female end attaches to tripod, male end goes into umbrella bracket.
Actually this is the bracket that I have tons of and it should have come with the adapter above. It also comes with the flash bracket and should be perfect for all of your needs:
