Ok, this seems like a straightforward idea, but the lack of seeing anybody do it makes me think I am missing something.

Is it possible to use a battery backup system for a pc as a light-duty power source for monolights? I haven't tried it, and I don't want to if it's going to do any damage. Without the modeling lights, I would think you could get enough shots off in a pinch.

Has anybody tried this?

Strobes are very sensitive to voltage and the type of voltage they use. I wouldnt take a chance with it, unless you dont like your strobes. The AB vagabond II is relatively cheap enough I would grab one and not chance it.
