So we had that Jazz Festival here last weekend and it happened that I finaly got my new telezoom with IS. I decided to go out and do something new - new to me, that is. As i don't have a clue of this kind of photography, I don't know if I succeeded; please let me know and be as honest as you can.

Oliver, I really like the banjo shot...it has great detail and focus. I'm not a fan of the trumpet shot, as I feel like it's cropped too close and you lose too much of the scene. I like the drum shots...particularly this one. The selective focus works well...with still setting the scene.

I find the most difficult part about shooting musicians is, I always want just the artist and the instrument...and not all the other stuff (cables, microphones, lights). It's hard to find a great angle to achieve this.

Love Jazz Festivals...my favorite type of music. Luckily I'm married to a bass player and have another musician as a Brother-In-Law...both play jazz!
