Any clue on price? Does RAW, RAW + JPG too. Uses SD cards...a first I think for canon's dSLRs.

Perhaps we can expect a 5D2 announcement this week then too?????????????????????????????????/

The Canon 450D already uses SD cards.

It says the list price in Europe is 540 euros without lens and 640 with. So I'm guessing a similar amount in dollars? This hits Nikon right where it hurts...

Edit to add: I think this might hurt Canon as well. Reading the specs, it seems that this doesn't have that much stripped off of the Rebel line and it goes for a few hundred less. Expect to see more soccer moms with dSLRs now. :)

It'll be interesting to see what the actual street price of this camera ends up being, given how low the 450D already is...

it will also be interesting if it sells since the 400 & 450 is so cheap, whats gonna be the price since the other two I just mentioned are so cheap...

Is it or would it be even worthed getting this one for some one looking to get a slr, they mine a well just get a 400 or 450 if its not that much of a price difference. I mean it really looks like a bare and basic camera

Alot of people will balk at that slight price difference, especially people who don't know anything about photography and just want to take better photos of their kids.

Why do you all say it's so basic? The only difference between this and the 400D (that I can tell and what do I know) is that it has 7 AF points as opposed to 9, uses an SD card, and has no wireless remote but gains live view.

1.5 fps RAW for 5 frames?

Ok missed that one...but it can still do 3.0fps unlimited in jpeg which, for most "normal" users, is more than enough.

Exactly. The target market for this camera has no idea what RAW is anyway.

My 1d mk3 does both CF and SD already.
