I initially was going to take my Canon backpack but after reading and hearing all the things people have been telling me about theft there, I have changed my mind.

CAn anyone advise me what kind of bag is the best type to take to Europe?

I plan on taking my XTI along with my 10-22mm , 100-400mm (a beast), and my 85mm.

What kind of bag can you recomment. Do you even recommend I take my 100-400mm lense?

Anyway this is my first time to Spain and Italy. Any input is always appreciated. :)

This is what two of us that went last year took:

My friend, who didn't need a laptop took her Lowepro Rover - it doens't look so much like a camera bag and was able to hold a few other items.

I needed a small laptop and forced myself to trim down to just the 17-50, the 70-200, and a 430EX. I put the camera gear into a Tamrac Velocity 7 and placed that bag and my laptop into my Northface Recon - which doens't look like a camrea bag either. Once I got there I split the two and had weather gear in the Northface.

Many flights in Europe only allow one bag on the plane so this is why I doubled up, but allowed myself the option to split into two.

Hope this helps.
