Does anyone know of a good resource to have double sided postcards printed? Small quantity...maybe 40-50. I have someone wanting to order postcard invites for a graduation party. One side will have the senior portrait / school graphic I have done and the other side will have the party location and other info and space for the address.
I can't seem to find a place that will do a small quantity and do the double side. Thanks for any help!

Postcards can be 8.5x11 fourth cut. So each card is 4.25 x 5.50. So if you can find a place to print good quality on a cardstock material, you could layout the postcard in sheets of four, print just 13 sheets (get 52 cards) front and back and cut them yourself. I know Kinkos prints on regular cardstock in color, but I've not tried photos on their color printers, just Photoshop stuff. But I have laid out postcards like this and they will even cut them for you.
As for a good glossy heavy photostock, I don't rightly know.

Vistaprint has quantities starting at 50. When I use them I leave the backside b&w to save a few bucks.

Judy, you can also try amazingmail, where you can upload both front and back images, text, etc. It's not too expensive (pricing). However, I wouldn't send out 50 cards without examining an actual sample first. Their quality can be hit and miss (photos that look great online can be very dark in print, etc.)

VistaPrint does 2-sided color postcards in quantities as low as 100. I've been happy with business cards from them, but have no direct experience with their postcards. These will be printed by 4-color offset process, not photographically (so will color laser prints).
You could also make ordinary 4x6 prints and glue them back-to-back ...
From the US Postal Service:
Postcards - $0.27
Size limits:
* Minimum: 3-1/2 inches high by 5 inches long by 0.007 inch thick
* Maximum: 6 inches long by 4-1/4 inches high
* Additional postage required for larger postcards |

I also use Vista, acutally waiting on an order right now. I ordered 250. Client wanted 150 and that wasn't an option so I charged her the price I quoted (which actually ends up covering the cost of 250) and I'm going to use the other 100 for advertising when I do Senior shoots. I'll let you know laster this afternoon, after I receive them, how they look. Oh we used grayscale printing on the back so we could save money. I didn't want to have to pay the extra 10 busk for the colored backside.

mpix.com can certainly do that. Maybe a little more expensive than a place like Vista, but they do excellent work, and did a free reprint of my last job when somebody (ahem...) messed up the order and put the text on the back of the card upside down. |
