I was looking at many lenses but the EF 80-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II seems to be at a good price and seems to be good. anyone recomend it or have a better suggestion?...thanx

I have this lens and like it a lot. The optical quality is quite good for a consumer lens and the lens is nice and small. The only drawbacks that I have noticed are that the build quality isn't super and the maximum aperture isn't as wide as an L lens, of course you aren't paying for an L either.

If you are going to go for one of those I would recommend the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO super macro 2. It is a very good lens for the money.

between the Canon 75-300 III USM Lens and the Canon 80-200 F4.5-5.6 II Lens which do u think is better?......the Canon 75-300 III USM Lens is $60 dollars more

I think they are about the same as far as teh optical quality goes with the 80-200 maybe having a slight edge. The 75-300 does give you 100mm more and that can make a big difference sometimes.

BTW I would go wiht the non-USM version over the USM version of that lens since the USM is micro-USM and the only advantage it gives is that the AF is quieter. THe speed isn't faster and the USM version doesn't have FTM focusing like most of the other USM lenses.
