OK, due to recent issues I experienced being a 2nd photographer for another photographer, I am looking for a contract/form that I can tailor that my assistant photographer will sign which basically signs away his coyright to the images that he takes for me on a wedding day. Since the person will not be employed by me, just freelancing (OK, "cash in hand" as we like to say round these here parts) he will, by default hold the copyright to the images, I want to avoid the problems associated with that can`o`worms and have them sign the form before shooting for me. I will include stipulation saying they can have use of the images for personal use only (not for business or other ways of making money out of them) & prohibit associating them (the photos) with any other business other than my own. Does anyone have anything like that out there already put together that I can use or point me in the right direction.

Cheers!

If you also are doing his editing, then make him/her shoot on your cards if you have enough and get him to sign some quick typed up "i sign over ..... on date..... to the master of all things photographic.... and forfeit any rights.... to my body" ect ect ect. A contract is a contract at least in NC, if it is witnessed, it is legal, barring it makes sense.

I always begin to do the same thing, then I found out that most of them will work for free if they can keep their photos for their portfolio, no lie.

The guy will be using my CF cards (note to self, order some more as he has just got himself a 16mp 1dsmk2.. right MAK?)

But just want something that is official and lets us all know where we stand, we already have a verbal agreement in place, but as they say, a verbal agreement isn't worth the paper its printed on :)
