The northeast of the US has been getting a late winter storm this week, so I packed up my gear, put on my long underwear and galoshes and trampled through the snow and high winds to some of the prettier natural spots on Long Island. I was out during the peak of the storm and then afterwards when it calmed down and got some shots I'd like to share with you. Please feel free to comment as you like...
the wind was blowing a very fine snow-mist and I tried to get an eerie and UV feel to this shot. I like this shot alot cause it's spooky.
Same conditions as above and tried to get that UV feel.
Storm had subsided and conditions were alot more conducive to photography and avoiding frostbite.
Just another couple I like.

They're pretty good. The main thing they all need, except for the last one, is more contrast and tweaking so that the snow is whiter. The 3rd shot of the shrubs is OK but maybe zoom in more on something in particular instead? Same with the "bench" pic, maybe zoom a little more on it to make it more of a subject in the shot. |

Where on the east coast? It's a big place :P
Well, you can get the best Lobster in Rockport, MA at Roy Moore's Lobster Shack. Massachusetts offers Cape Cod and the Islands. Quaint towns, great scenics. Windmills, lighthouses, etc. Also, the North Shore of MA offers Gloucester and Rockport (Cape Ann). Fishing, beaches, more lighthouses. Go to Dick's Last Resort while in Boston on a Friday night and you are likely to have a great time, have good beer, and perhaps catch my husbands band, SoulCity. Or try out The Union Oyster House for chowder.
Rhode Island, I have heard, has some very nice beaches. Newport has great boat shows and historic mansions. Further north is Maine. Great for Ogonquit (I just know I have spelled that wrong) and York Harbor. Try out Bill Foster's Downeast Clambake there.

I plan on visiting NY (queens etc.), NJ, Boston, Maine, Rhode Island etc. and bringing my laptop to clear my memory cards. Wanna get some ghetto shot and abnormal culture (well for me at least). I wanna see a homeless challenge next week :) j/k |
