Alright, well, I think that tomorrow or tuesday I am going to go spend a pretty penny on a new lens (Sigma 70-200 f2.8). I know some people here have it, and it has good reviews everywhere I have looked, but I am one of those people with the "off brand" issue, and this happens to be a sigma. Now, I figure for $800, its going to be good, but its not a Nikon! Somebody, anybody, everybody, just reassure me that I will still love it after Ive had it a while!

Sigma makes a good lens.

If you did your homework, then you should be happy.

You mean you are questioning?!!!

I had in-camera sharpening turned on with this photo so it has a white ring around the perimeter but it still turned out all right.



I have a few other pix that I'm editing now from this last weekend over at the beach. I'll try to post some here.

One thing I'll point out is that at 200mm the DOF is just "sweet". It works wonderful in senior portraits to allow a busy background that can be "blurred" so as not to cause distractions. -BB

I wasn't sure about buying off-brand glass either but I'm only a beginner and I couldn't justify the $1,600 that Nikon wanted for their lens. Sigma 70-200/2.8? = IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY
