In the present "Parallel Lines" challenge as well as a few of the preceding contests I have been totally surprised by the lower than expected scores. I am not complaining, I am just wondering if anyone else has noticed the same. I know there are many new members and I was thinking that maybe the criteria for scores was tracking lower. |

I expected my Parallel entry to do well, maybe not win, but atleast a 6; it is currently 5.4699; it fit the theme and I was careful with lighting, composition, colour, etc. My Magazine entry on the other hand is a dull looking, almost blurry 640 x 480 crop with no down-sizing, and it is scoring 5.6944; I expected sub 5. Don't ask why I bothered entering something I didn't expect to do well - let's just say I lack self-control. :)

		| I must have gotten very lucky with my parallel shot, after 279 votes, I'm still at 6.58 with 24 positive comments. The way the open voting has been going, I could finish in the top 5. I haven't finished above 6 yet, but my magazine cover is also sitting at 6.3. I'm still very much an novice, so I'm supprised. |
