what is the best flash out there for under 150?
manual flash that is...
sofar im looking at vivitar 285s but i keep hearing bad reviews

I'd look for an SB-26 or SB-28 on eBay. The SB-26 has the benefit of having an optical trigger, and both have a PC jack. Definitely can be had for under $150.

i am going tobe useing pocket wizards... so thats not important... anyone else?

I just got a sunpak 333 super for $79 or so from B&H. You can find them on ebay for cheaper. It's definitely hard core manual--doesn't even have LCD on the back.

However, it does what it's supposed to do so I'm happy.

It does have some auto settings but I don't think I'll be using them.
