i've just bought my first nd grad filter and am just wanting some tips on how to use it correctly. i think i know but i thought i would just ask for some tips.

- Use the DoF preview button (assuming your camera has it) to place the split exactly where you want it.
- If it's a hard-edge filter, you can move the filter up and down (or side to side, as the case may be) a little bit (hand holding the filter in front of the lens so as to avoid camera shake) during the exposure to have a smoother transition, when needed.
