Sounds like fun, except for this part:
"...the Pocono Nascar race is this weekend"

You're friends with a Nikon person? That would be like me bringing a Red Sox fan.

If you see a Tahoe creeping into the parking lot...
and a guy that looks alot like a cross between Pedro and Sloth steps out holding a Canon along with a ninja sidekick, then that would be me.
(and my ninja)

We have our own theme music.

We're a game day decision.
I'd say we're about 83% good-to-go at this point, and about 48% no-go.

So no need to count us in, nor count us out. We don't (can't) count.

Ok then, we'll probably look forward to maybe not seeing you.

Steve's Prince of Steaks in the northeast, or Tony Lukes -- that is if you want to eat something that's actually any good.

I don't know if this has been brought up, but could somebody close bring ice?
06/05/2008 09:06:58 PM · #109
Unfortunately (not for Jeremy, for us) jmlelii will be cooling his heels in the surf down in the outer banks on Sunday or I'd drag him along. Anyhow we'd be happy to see any of those who may or may not come along. :-)

I'm at the 90% mark right now for being able to go. I should know for sure tomorrow.

I'm taking suggestions on what to bring. So if anything is still needed please let me know.

Morning bump and a reminder. It will be hot and humid Sunday so everybody please bring enough water for yourselves for the whole day.

I'm a little scared...My Husband is away on storm work (hes a lineman) and may not be able to come. I am really not good with directions and I don't know how to load the GPS. I'm in Cape May nj and the farthest I ever went was NE Philly to my Moms house......I'm gonna try to read the directions for the GPS but I don't know.

What kind of footware in this park. Are we going to be on unimproved trails or on maintained paths? In other words; boots, sneakers or sandals?

Sneakers at least, do NOT wear boots unless you will be very comfortable and they are broken in or your feet will hurt.

You will encounter some mud and wet rock IS the order of the day.

I am now officially in. Someone has to represent NY and clearly Nik nikolai1024 and Ryan digitalpins can't commit.

Not sure what to bring for the picnic but I will also bring an assortment of fresh genuine NY Bagels and cream cheese, butter, etc so everyone can have their morning carbs. Let me know what else you need or want me to bring.

I'm still not sure but likely. It's kind of a long drive for me so I'll decide tomorrow.

Very nice. Mostly college educated, the lean Republican, have 2.1 kids and tend to drive Volvo's

Yeah, well......

It's not a good year for ticks at all, or more accurately, for humans 'cause there are a lot due to the thriving vegetation.

Thing is, you'll be walking on wet rocks, and wooded trails as opposed to through fields of long grasses.

I'm not going to say that you won't be exposed, just that the odds are pretty low.

Wear long pants and high socks.

I should be in the area tonight around 6-ish. Anybody else going early?
