Does anyone have one of these, and if so, is it sufficient for a small SLR? (Rebel XT)

I bought a Quantaray QSX-100 from a Wolf store late last year and the legs will not stay locked. The store manager is generously letting me exchange it for another tripod model. Considering that I bought it 6 months ago and I don't have the receipt, that is more than fair. Of course, that limits me to what they have in stock. This low end Manfrotto Modo looks pretty decent, but my only concerns are if the head won't support the Rebel and if I can obtain extra QR plates for my other cameras. (I suppose there is no standard for baseplate designs.) Reviews on amazon are mostly positive. An expensive (I realize that term is very relative) tripod is out of the question right now, but I could afford to throw another $30-40 at it if there is a better choice I can get at this store. I would prefer something easily transported, but if that doesn't work, sturdy is more important.
