I attended a high school event. I have a nice shot of one of the students that I would like to put in a challenge. The person is about 16 years old and not identifiable. Unless you know the school and date of the event, there is no way to identify the subject.
I do not personally know this student or the parents. However, if they saw my username associated with that photo they would likely be able to identify the subject.
Can I post this shot in the challenge or on the web in general?
Would you think the parents or school would be upset if they found I used this shot in a virtual ribbon challenge?
Thanks for your opinions....

Well now that you have described the shot so we can all identify it as yours, I would say no, you can't enter it into a challenge. As for the other uses someone more knowledgeable than me would have to answer. |

My understanding is that you can use it for 'editorial' purposes (which web publication counts as) and can sell fine-art prints, butthat you cannot sell the image for use in any form of advertising. |

If the person is not individually identifiable then you can use the photo for anything without a model release. If the person(s) can be identified, then you are limited to personal, educational, or editorial use as noted. |
