Simple and boring,no special lights,no interesting clouds,no fog no moving subjects.
Maybe you should repeat it at different day !

I love road shots like these.
Red Road- the sky is to boring, as a general rule if it isn't pretty and blue or dramatic leave it out. redo it another day
Sun Rays- one awsome shot, I wish it were mine. |

I think the sky should be used to enhance a photo, however to just throw out any photo without an interesting sky cernainly is NOT my general rule. |

Composition is a bit too centered I would suggest you also try some better angles, when you try it again with a better sky ofcourse. Also this myght be helpful when figuring out an angle. IMHO the fact that is so centered makes it a bit boreing.

Hi everyone!
Thanks for your input; I agree with the point that the sky was flat and washed out. Especially with a bare tree and a lack of sharpness in the reds. I'll go back (assuming I can find it!) now that the tree should be fuller and green; a blue-green left side would contrast nicely with the red on the right. And I'll work on the framing for better balance of elements.
Thanks very much!
Stuart
