There have been several comments on my "macro" entry regarding how the onion seems to pop towards you, and one asking how it was done. So, for what it's worth, here's the trick: I sliced the onion VERY thin (one of my better skill sets, LOL) and taped it to the sliding glass door that leads to my deck, and shot it in late afternoon with strong sunlight backlighting it. So what you're seeing is translucency, basically. That's all there was to it. I used duct tape, btw :-)

Cool, thanks for sharing the technique.

My dad thought he could fix anything with duct tape and a hammer.
