Ok...here is the deal. I want to have one of our photos from Maui edited for a 16X20 canvas gallery wrap from Canvas on Demand. I pretty much stink at Photoshop, and would like to know if someone would be willing to help me out or edit the photo for me. I can supply the full size image to anyone that wouldn't mind lending a friendly hand.
Would like to use one of the 2 photos below.

Thanks!

Is the original in raw by chance?

sadly no....wish it was....but was running out of room on the card..forgot to download photos from the day before, and had to shoot lower quality. Only used aperature priority to get more out of the lens. The XTI broke on our second day of the trip and I had to use the 30D for the rest of our time on the island. I had only used it one time before.

I was using a 4gb card..but had nearly 800 photos on it...I should have taken time the night before and downloaded them all. We only went to Maui...but it was incredible....just can't describe it any better than that.

I actually wondered how people get the smooth vibrant sunset colors like that. Whats the workflow?

This was actually a SUNRISE! We were on top of Haleakala crater at 10,023 feet elevation, above the clouds.

These were just basic adjustment layers. Levels, curves, etc. Also a pass thru NeatImage. There's tons of other options for adjustment also.

Here's a quick run through a fake hdr program. I could do better for you with a full size.

Three quick fixes:
1) Using Color Efex Pro 3.0's Tonal Contrast: Highlight=+53, Midtone=+47, Shadow=+47, Saturation=+20
2) Neat Image
3) USM: 15/60/0

Ooops, one more change: Rotated to level the clouds.

Wow, Kelli's and mine are amazingly similar despite two completely different approaches!

These are just a couple edits of each. I used Neat image, Lucisart, color balance, and saturation.

If color efex is expensive, the program I used is only $40. link

eta: it appears the price is now $55, still a bargain compared to some of the other softwares.

Ended up sending this photo for the print...hope it works out ok. Thanks again for everyone that helped out. I had someone do a different photo than the ones posted here in this thread...they asked to see a couple of different views and we both agreed that this one would work pretty good. I also submitted to DPCPrints for review...maybe this photo might sell someday.

Thanks again!!!!
