I posted this in the "Calling all Christians" rant, but because of the direction that thread has taken, I wanted to post once here as well.
For those who are interested, there are several Christian photography sites out there. However, I have found none that seem to carry the quality of work and variety of interests found here. I have started a Yahoo Group called "Leanring 2 See". The intent is to invite those familiar with DPC to have a non-DPC sanctioned location for fellowship and discussion of photography and DPC, as well as faith issues.
Learning 2 See group
I really enjoy DPC for the most part. I don't intend to leave here and I'm not encouraging anyone else to do that - but I do hope this new group might provide a place to share both our passions...photography and God's love. |

Thanks for the information. I agree the quality here is hard to find elsewhere!

No doubt about that! I have learned so much since starting here a few years ago. I'm not as active as I once was, but still get a lot from the sharing of the wonderful photographers and photos here. I have almost left a couple of times because of the combative nature of some threads, but decided that was throwing the baby out with the bathwater as they say. To me, DPC is first and foremost a photogaphy site. I appreciate a chance to share faith issues with like minded believers, but there are so many different viewpoints within the membership here - it will always cause debate.
So I figured doing something off-site might be a better option. I think the variety of people here from all over the world and with different beliefs and viewpoints is very interesting and it helps keep me from thinking that my own little world is all that matters. Besides, if we were all alike wouldn't our lives (and our photography!) be so boring??? |
