I recently started using Aperture over iPhoto for photo management and RAW conversion.

Anyone have issues with the RAW export for challnge validation?

Seems like the EXIF data is a bit different, for example, in iPhoto it lists the widest f-stop for the lens used and the f-stop actually set on the lens for the exposure. in Aperture, these values are the same even when the lens is stopped down. It doesn't appear that way in iPhoto. When I export the RAW file from Aperture, I have more options on the EXIF data to export. I'm not sure what to select. This also makes me wonder if the exported RAW file is altered, thereby making it unusable for challenge entry validations.

Any guidence on this is appreciated.

My last entry was a RAW file exported from Aperture 2 (default settings I suppose). I didn't notice EXIF options, but Aperture should preserve the original and export exactly what your camera recorded. From your description, it sounds like it might have an option for including less detailed EXIF data (many cameras record more EXIF data than is actually shown by a typical EXIF reader).

Check for Apple software updates if you haven't already done that. I seem to remember seeing one last night that had RAW in the description, but that may have been for iPhoto.

Have you noticed anything in the EXIF with the lens aperture versus the aperture used?
