Hi I have a Canon i9900 printer and am not too happy with the black and white prints I get from it - Always looks like it has a bit of a cast and sometimes some bronzing - I was wondering if
A. Anyone had any suggestions to settings that might help and
B. Has anyone tried these Lyson Black and white inks before?
Cheers in advance for any help
Jeff

It's an inherent problem with trying to do B&W using colour inks. I haven't used the Lyson inks myself but I've thought about it, and if I start doing more B&W then I plan to get some.

It's the only reason - I stupidly bought the i9900 because of all the rave reviews but didn't realize they were all color reviews! I would say 95% of the pics I want to reproduce are Black and white! Silly move - Should have gone with the Epson which I have had all my life...OH well you live and learn.. |

Can you post some information about those inks? I am not familiar with them, though I can guess at what they are trying to do ...
AFAIK, all of Ansel Adams' reproductions (posters, calendars, etc.) are printed by a shop in Southern California using a special set of four gray/black inks on a quad-tone image. If these inks are anything like that, it may be worth a try, since you already have the printer. |

I think they are trying to do the same ... Here is the link Black and white inks for your printer
Might be worth doing - Pretty expensive but I have just bought a place in LA and need to fill the walls with a bit of art work - So may well be worth the money?
Cheers
