So I bought a 40D and quickly was disappointed when my current software (even with the new version update) would not read the RAW files. Actually, a lot of my software will not read them - even Canon software (viewer utility - which seems to not come packaged with the camera anymore). I downloaded a trial copy of CS3 - the only version available at Adobe for trial was CS3 Extended. So I downloaded and installed. The download was @ 474 meg. At the time the screen informed me the price was $619.00. So now that my trial period is 10 days away from being up, I look to make it a full - not trial - version. Here is where I am confused. The screen tells me the download of JUST CS3 - not extended - is over 700 meg and the price is $649.00. My question: what is the difference in the trial and full version of CS3 to cause an almost double download size? And why the price increase?

Don't know about the price increase... could just be that they have had a general increase since you downloaded the trial. Also an interesting question as to why the download size is that much different. I can tell you that my CS3 download was 474 MB. It's possible that the additional data is updates.
FWIW, you should not have to re-download, but only apply the license code once you purchase. Updates would then be applied as needed.

I thought this too. However, the trial expiration screen directs me to a page to pay which then directs me to a page for download which was when I saw the difference in file sizes and started to wonder why the difference and if somehow I was downloading the wrong thing so canceled transaction to ask the question.
