Hi there i was just wondering if anyone could help me. my canon 400d will not autofocus when the camera is on the manual, program, aperture priority or shutter priority modes. However it will auto focus when the mode is set to the automatic depth of field mode and also the basic modes such as the portrait and macro modes. Can anyone help me please. also just to let people know, my camera is set to autofocus mode and is not on manual focus. thank you.

Also, make sure that the AF point selection isnt on a specific area where nothing is to be focused on.
