Has anyone tried both? I tested out the Tamron 1.4 converter on the weekend and seemed to be fast and sharp. Plus unlike the Canon will work with Canon's non-pro line. Any advice from anyone? Please

I have the Tamron 1.4 (not the "SP") and the Canon 2.0, so it would not be a fair comparison. From what I have read on DPReview Canon Lens Talk forum, the Canon converters are sharper in the corners, but the Tamron is pretty darn good. The Canon converters will also report focal length and aperture correctly, whereas the Tamron non-SP will not.
If however you need to use with non-L lenses, or want to attempt AF with aperture smaller than 5.6, then the Tamron may be the best choice.
I'm keeping my Tamron 1.4x for use with my travel lens, but I am buying the Canon 1.4x II.

Thanks, and sorry for the spelling error.
Oh and I should have clarified:
