Here's another photo I took as a potential Design & Engineering entry. I ultimately chose to enter something else because I thought there would be too many bridge entries.

I think this is stronger than your actual entry. Perhaps take a look at the winners, and even the top 20 to see what "works" :)

This is one of my outtakes which gives a complete view of the boatlifting device I used for the challenge.

dr rick - I scored your entry a 6. I liked the detail and the water effect but overall it seemed too busy (mine was even more busy). The bridge I would have scored a 7. The beautiful color made the shot for me. It looks naturally vibrant.

caba - I liked the smooth lines of your shot.

geewhy, I scored your shot an 8. Great composition.
I'm glad you posted the complete lift for us. My curiosity was peaked.

This is just one of several dozen views of this support structure. Ultimately, I didn't find any that really spoke to me so I went with a bridge. I was somewhat dissapointed since when viewing the ceiling in this room, it was absolutely breathtaking. Unfortunately, I didn't have the ability to translate what I saw onto a screen.
