OK. Cruddy dreary rainy day- can't find anything to shoot. Behold the pigeons, who, after a short while of watching treated me to a love fest. The first pic is from the first series and the 2nd pic is from the second series of pics. NOTE: SAME BIRDS IN BOTH PICS!
Notice anything funny? That's right- girl on boy; boy on girl (or is it the other way around?) Any explanations?

Ya know- that occurred to me, but I wasn't going to say it first! But which is which?
In other pics from the shoot, they both look like they have hoo-hoos (Bajingos).

oh funny

Okay asked Sean and he says that the darker of the two pigeons is the male. the male can get very agressive adn draw blood from peeking the female, teh female can get pissed off and mount the male to show dominance.

Hey Pigeons have rights to try new things. ;)

Having raised various parrots - sometimes the female will initiate activity by mounting the male. Currently i have an unpaired female lovebird that does the wild thing with her hanging nest. She'll molest it for a few days, then lay an egg. :)
