I'm new to the site and I'm wondering why we can only enter one exclusive open challenge per week. I would have loved to enter both challenges this week. What is the reasoning, if any? Thanks in advance.

Basically it is to give a choice on which to enter and to keep the amount of entries down in the challenges to make sure voters give the proper amount of respect to each photo in the challenge. Thats the way I take it anyway.

Thanks. I guess that makes sense, it just sucks when you have a photo for each challenge and you have to pick one over the other. It's like trying to pick one child over another. (not really, but you get my point)

Yes, before there used to be one open a week. There was getting to be regularly 4,5, even 600 plus entries. So they introduced the 2 exclusive open system. It seems to have worked well. Not long after that is when we started having monthly free studies also. And more frequent speed and special challenges. A lot more choices now than in the 'old days'. :-)
