Would like to add a photograph to my DPC profile page, but it needs to be 120x90 or 90x120. Can someone recommend an easy way to downsize one to that size? I keep getting 120 x something else or 90 x something else, so they can't be uploaded. I have a windows system and generally use picasa for storing pix (i.e. no Photoshop on this laptop).

Thanks.

If it's not in that apect ratio (4:3) you will have to crop the image to make it so, then resize.

I've never understood why the thumbnail code isn't used for profile images. It's always such a hassle to get the exact size when one should just be able to upload an image and have DPC automagically resize it to 120*whatever or whatever*120.

120 divided by 90 = 12 divided by 9 = 4 divided by 3.
In aspect ratio lingo is like 120:90, 90:12, 4:3.

Getting the aspect ratio is the main hassle. For example, in Photoshop the Crop tool allows you to set the aspect ratio by typing the numbers in below the menu bar once the tool is selected. Then the crop ratio will be forced so that one side is the proper length with respect to the other side while you drag the crop across your photo. After that you can resize the image so the long side is 120 pixels.

Damn, what a horrible explanation! Sorry.

But the OP doesn't have Photoshop. ;)
