Any way to transfer the same pictures from your camera into 2 hard drives on your computer at the same time. It would just be more convenient, and I would always have an immediate backup just in case something happened to the main hard drive right at the moment where I would have the picture on my main hard drive.
Thanks

Supose that would be possible using some expensive techinice. But if you are transfering throug USB i dont think you would save any time copaird to just transfer it twice into separate drives.

I do something similar. I run a back up from my main hard drive to a back up hardrive every night. I go incremental so it only copies files that are new or different.

I burn the pics at the end of each month on CDs and bring them to a buddy's house. That way, if my house burns down, I'll have a fairly recent back up available. Feels good to finally have a proper, regular back up procedure.

I use a nice little Freeware to run my nightly back ups. Cobian Backup

You can look at the arco solutions, of which there are many, though a little pricey. Quite a bit cheaper, and nearly identical, is this product.

These things can't save you from yourself, but do provide some insurance when your hard drive fails.

RAID 1 does mirroring on two HD or more. If one HD goes bad you can replace and still have the data.
