Thanks to George (Harold66), Matt (Manic) and Kevin (paynekj) for joining Pete (Ganders) and myself for a few hours of eating, chatting, walking around Greenwich and getting wet in the rain.

Here's hoping at least one of us has something to enter into a challenge this week!

:o)

I'll try and arrange another one in July or August when I get back from the big Africa trip and am hoping we can do a GTG in Brighton too...

Not loads actually and am gonna enter a challenge with one of mine and haven't decided which one yet (not that any are particularly good but I thought it would be nice to enter anyway)...

OK, since you asked, here's some of the photos that I took (bar all the potential challenge entries, of course ;o)

Edit: fixing the url...

Nice shots Manic, really clear and crisp.
Do you have any of the photographers from the front? ---They all have nice backs.
Just kidding. Great looking area.

OK, I've added in the over-exposed shot of the photogs from the front :o)

I had a good time too :) although I didn`t take to many pictures. Was feeling under the weather; even worst today :(

@ Manic: I like the rainbow, when I got back to my car I could see both ends but couldn`t get them in.

Looking forward to the next one.

I managed to get all of the rainbow arch in shot by using my wideangle lens, but the distortions were too distracting for my liking :o/ Maybe one of the others got a better shot...

George, sorry you're feeling worse... paradoxically I'm not frantically downing throat losenges today and can almost breathe properly!

Matt, thanks for sharing those...

See, I said getting that red-shirted footballer in frame would provide a great balance of colour and a focal point!

And as for me wondering into shot, well if a certain young photographer had a) SAID something and b) didn't have such a ridiculously wide angle lens...

:o)

I don't know which image to ENTER!

WAAAAIIIIIIIIIIILLL!!!

I want to enter 3.

I'll just chip in at the moment to say how much I enjoyed the day. It started well at the shops beforehand (I picked up "Pattern Recognition" by William Gibson, and the one Go Go's album I didn't have - Talk Show) and it just continued in the same spirit. Some great scenery and Kavey's unerring ability to get us indoors just before it rained heavily, twice!

I'm just processing some pics, and I'll post a link a bit later, but I'm trying not to post any that might be used by the others as challenge entries.

Sadly I can't put that unerring ability down to special weather forecasting powers --- I'm just keen on my rest and tea/hot chocolate breaks!

Just as we were about to go into the grounds of the Royal Observatory they evacuated because of a fire alarm.

I wondered if there was a cafe and George pointed out the tea house a short distance away - we headed for it and were able to secure seats and drinks before most of the other evacuees thought of it and were happily ensconsed when the hailstorm hit...

Was nice to meet you all, and a day out taking photographs has finally kick-started my submissions which have been sadly lacking lately. Thanks!

You're welcome!

Ooooh that one in the park with the dark dark clouds over the observatory, the footballer in red and the ball in the air - it's superb! Absolutely gorgeous!

And hey, my idea was for the fenceposts to be out of focus using a shallow DOF! :o)
