Hi,
So, does any of you have a KATA DR-467 backpack? I would like to know exactly how many lenses you can put in there.
I have a Canon 400d and Canon 10-22mm USM + Canon 50mm 1.8 + Canon 100mm 2.8 USM Macro+ kit lens 18-55mm 3.5-4.5 and I would like to have some place for my "future" flash 580ex. Do you think they'll fit?
I currently own a Lowepro Rezo 160, but I cannot put all my lenses inside (not to mention a flash or smth else).
If not, any other suggestions of camera backpack(with or without laptop place) that doesn't look like a box are appreciated.
Thanks,
Bianca

Hi Bianca-
I've got the Lowepro Compurover AW and am very pleased with it. It holds my XT, 70-22 f/4, 100mm macro, Tamron 28-75, 10-22, 50mm, kit lens and Sigma flash ... there's not room for much more in the way of lenses though. The top has enough space for the camera extras and comes with a detachable pouch to hold them in. I travel a lot for my job and the top will fit a hard cover book, power cords for the laptop, my purse (smaller than most women carry) along with a quart sized zip lock bag for airport security screening. It has a nice padded laptop compartment ... the straps are very adjustable and it comes with a waist band for added lumbar support ... the ONLY downfall is that it gets pretty heavy if totally loaded ... not something I'd want to hike all day with if it were full ... overall I love the backpack and would recommend it highly ...

Thanks Pam, but it seems kinda too big for what I want. Apparently the photocompartiment from the Lowerpro is 29.5x17.5x21cm and for the KATA is 33x15x19cm, so they seem to bee more or less the same, so maybe I can put the same things in the KATA ... Problem here is that I cannot find it easily in a shop (so cannot see it), but I can order it online ....so that is why I wantend some insight.
Thanks again! |

| Bianca, I'm not sure if they have KATA around here either, but if I go into town tomorrow, I will check the other camera store (the one I was in today didn't have it) and see if they have them. I'm looking at a larger bag as well. The Tamrac something or other (I'll find the number later) looks about right but I need to see if I can find it locally as well. I'll let you know what I find out! |

I personally have not tried out or seen the DR-467 bag, so I can't comment directly on it. But....
I have KATA bag - the R-102 (it is quite sturdy and fits a great deal of equipment) and really like it. I can put my D300 with 18-200, my SB600 flash, and three other lenses inside without issue (a 60mm, 70-300 and my Tokina 12-24. It has a fairly firm feel to it and it is a bit on the heavy side.

This one seems big enough (not sure I can order it around here). Here is the KATA DR-467. The advantage of KATA DR-467 is that I can put my laptop in there, in case I need it (I travel quite often to Geneva for work so I need my laptop). |

The R-102 fits a laptop as well.

Thanks! |
