Looking for Ideas - DPChallenge Forums

Hello,

I'm looking for some ideas from fellow photographers regarding a business venture I want to persue in the summer.

Here in Ontario, the gouvernement has a program called Summer Company. I am interested in applying and want to do something, whatever that may be, in the photography field.

However, I am not exactly sure what to do and was wodering if you had any ideas. I am not very interested in booking portrait sessions as I am not experienced in working with models and I don't feel that I would be effective at it.

I have thought of getting a website where I could host images for sale, as well as meet with local gallaries, resturants, and shops, asking if they would be willing to display my photography for sale. However, this idea does not seem like it would be enough, and I'm looking for some alternate opinions.

I'de love some ideas or insight. This is a great oppurtunity and I want to capitalize on it.

on the theme of selling prints you could do some photo projects and turn them them into books, if they're good you maybe be able to get them into some of the small book stores especially if they are themed based on your city.

or you can do the standard get a studio and do portraits etc.

if youre into the band scene you might also try getting in to doing things like cover photo shoots or the like...

those are just of the tip of my head... be creative though, if you've got the chance to go for your dreams then figure out your dream and go for it.
