i'm not sure if im off topic or not and sorry if i happen to be but i just add .. im still fairly new to dp and i love it im learning so much here and im addicted every day im on here. i even come and sign in here before i go and check anything else (email and such).joining DP well, the big thing that brought me to this site was seeing different people help out others with their work (aka) their passion to take photographs and im sure every one here is passionate about photography in some way or another . but i hate to pop anyones bubble but no one is perfict and tips, pointers, comments, good or bad all help in some way. i have entered i think like five or so challenges now and my first challenge i got about 14 comments and it really made my feel good even tho i got some bad comments but they were all meaningful to me. each challenge after that i knowticed i got fewer and fewer comments and more less meaningful ones. i feel if you can vote on a photo you can leave a comment and ya i'm not perfict i have voted and not left any thing. but at least try to look at the photo for a min or to and try to think outside the box a bit and vote from there. im just saying comments tips any thing (meaningful) good or bad help.
thanx and i hope everyone has a goodnight!

I get the most useful feedback from posting photos and asking for comments in my own threads. I reliably get 5-10 solid opinions every time I do it.

I'm someone who's learned almost everything on DPC - from participating in challenges, posting shots for comments, making my own comments, and participating in side challenges.

I think, in all modesty, that if you go look at my first few challenge entries, I've learned something since (including when an image meets my own standards even if the DPC score isn't so great).

I strongly disagree with weighted voting, partly because of the trouble I've seen it cause on another site. I suggest you try it out and see what you think. It's called Daily Awards: //www.dailyawards.com

One of the results was that the people with the most weight felt nervous about voting simply because their votes were worth literally hundreds of times as much as newer folks.
