Is there any difference between these lenses? I was able to pull a 50mm lens off a Nikon 35mm camera to use on my D80, and was wondering if there was any difference that was worth noting in the D series.
Anybody compare the two? |

I think the D lens has something to do with electronic range finding.
Optical construction and design is the same. |

distance information is passed back to the camera for flash use

| Is that the only change is the info for the flash? (obviously something useful to have if you use on-camera TTL flash). |

hmmmm...
so it seems definitely not worth buying a D series. Probably will save my money for the f/1.4 |
