I'm going to be in Edmonton from April 9th to 16th for some business.

Any suggestions on a Hotel would be appreciated.

My main desires are that it has high-speed internet and a fitness centre, specifically with rowing machines.

I don't know if there are good and bad areas. I'd prefer not to get mugged. Cost isn't that big a deal, but I have to be business-reasonable.

Thanks!

Don't stay at the Sutton Place Hotel. It was a nice hotel but when we booked it, they said they had high speed internet in every room. Ours did not have it, when we complained, they said we were on the only floor that did not have it (not sure if I believe that or not). Since we needed a wheelchair accessible room, we could not move to another floor. We had to use the business centre. Ugh.

So I guess the Hotel MacDonald is out of the question?

How about the Westin? //www.expedia.ca/pub/agent.dll/qscr=dspv/htid=20275

Darn straight!... granted I'm not sure I can actually vouch for the quality of the hotel... I don't think we spent that much time in it :) now I can tell you that the balconies and railings on the outside of the building are very sturdy, and it is possible to climb from one floor to another :)

Thanks folks.

Turns out I had no say in the matter. Got my reservation given to me for theFairmont. They have a list of fitness equipment, and no rowers are on it, unfortunately. :-(

It's going to be one of those fancy-pants joints too, so I'm going to have to bring my damn suit just to be able to eat there. >:-(
