Hi,
Is their a way to control the saturation of colours in my camera? So when i take a shot they can be a little over saturated?

they're certainly is. You can set your own custom options by using User Def 1,2 or 3. To access them, push the set button, go to user def 1 and push set again.
Then go into the menu and it's the second tab along, go down to where it says 'Picture style', push set, then push jump, then you can set the saturation, sharpness and contrast as well as some other things.
I have one b/w, one high sat for sunsets etc and one for portraits and things which is basically half desaturated but with a lot of contrast and sharpness.
Enjoy.

although many people prefer to keep saturation and sharpness set to 'standard' in the Camera, then alter them at leisure on their PC during Post Processing. This gives far greater control. |

I was about to say the same thing. Because if you over saturate in camera, it's hard to undo the effects later. But if you don't saturate in camera, it's easy to do so in post. This is especially true of the sharpening settings. It's easier to sharpen "correctly" in post, than to try to get it right in camera.

This holds for about everything one can change in a picture, and is especially true if one uses lenses from different brands or with (even minor) differences in quality. Allmost anything you change in-camere will make you loose information. |
