I am considering buying the Nikon D70 very soon. Generally seems to cost £999 with lens kit in the UK. $1299 in the US with a favourable exchange rate ($1.82 = £1) this equals £713!!

But, if I order on the web the Customs charges P&P bring it back to £950ish. Doh!

I have a friend who is travelling to the US in May. Should I ask them to get it for me or is there another way????

The body-only price in Japan is 119,800 yen before 5%tax. (125,790 after)(Kit:159,800/167,790)

At 180 yen per pound sterling, this works out at 699pounds. Not so bad.

(edited to add: These prices are the actual on-the-street ones, the ones I paid for mine, offered at most respectable dealers, not the Nikon published prices.)
