I'm shaking as I type this...after many submissions that ranked from mediocre to bad, I finally scored my first ribbon for my silence submission, "Where You Can Hear Yourself Think"
Thanks to each and every one of you who commented on the photo!

Thanks everyone!
Now I'm wondering how in the world I can possibly equal this. I think I'll take a few days off to enjoy the thrill (but keep my camera close just in case).

Many congrats! Your photo was my favorite of the challenge hands down. I am so happy you won. It is well deserved and for once there was no 10D in the top three. Unbelievable. Here said it doesn't mean that a good camera takes a great picture. A great picture is taken by great photographers and those who are most ambition often own the latest and greatest : ) but not always!

DOUBLE Congratulations, Doug, for a photograph with only a crop. It is rewarding to see a submission from a photographer, rather than a technical wizard.
Now, for my good tech-weenie friends, no flames or cries of anguish. Darkrooms/Photoshop are legitimate...just nice to see a straight-up photograph win. |
