I was lucky enough to take the following, and do quit well for the Challenge. Thanks to all who left comments and voted. I wanted to share some of the rest of the series.
Let me know if you think some of these would have beaten 10th, and why?

Nice photos David! Personally, I like the first one better than your entry. I think the composition is better, less cluttered. And, I like that you seem to be closer to the action. I did some firefighting when I was in the Navy, and once helped a local volunteer unit with a controlled burn. This photo reminds me of what a difficult, dangerous, hot, and dirty job it can be. Good job.

Excellent job, David. My favorite of this series is the "Hot Tin Roof". It seems to me to be well balanced with the large sky portion behind the firefighters being offset by the large dark area of the building, and the "heavy" elements are at just the right height in the frame. After the initial view, my eye is drawn to the right to rest on the firefighters, then the water stream takes me right back "into the action" of the flames. Very nice photo. Well done.

I liked the one you put in the contest, because it was the most intense. My second favorite would have been Hot Tin Roof.
But they were all great...must have been tough choosing what one went in the contest. Great job. |

Thanks Ron & Riggs. This is funny because I had 3 people tell me at work that "Hot Tin Roof" was their favorite as well. Very interesting, as I thought the scale was too far away and didn't really consider it.
Thanks for the positive comments! |
