Either my monitor is very poorly calibrated, or my printer is crap.
This image:
prints out pink! Obviously the letters are supposed to be red, but the whole image has printed out in shades of pink, is it my monitor or my printer? Can someone with a properly calibrated monitor let me know please?
Oh and do you like it?

P.S. I have removed the image so Porsche don't chase me for it! Thanks for your comments, I'll look into the printer thing.

cool perspective on that.
The B&W is good, with no hues or colors in it.
The Reds are a bit dull, but certainly not pink. One of the ways I check the b&w for lingering colors is to simply open it in PS, then take saturation and go 100% with it. It will show residual colors if there are any. In the process, I noticed how much better the colors looked when I bumped to the 15-18% mark. Just look close for and stray pixels outside the letters, as some come to life when the saturation was over-boosted.
My monitor has been calibrated with a Spyder3 btw. |

My monitor is also calibrated, and shows no colour cast on the BW. Check your printer. :) |

I must warn you that you are in what Porsche would consider to be a serious breach of copyright law. They love (like the Olympic committee to go after any apparent breech of their copyright.... |

Yeah, I have definately heard that they are really uptight too. I would be pretty careful with that shot (pretty cool tho) |

You might want to consider one of these
//www.pantone.com/pages/products/product.aspx?pid=562&ca=2
I have one for sale.
Let me know if you are interested. I bought it and used it once. I found that my monitor is fine and I won't be using it.
PM if you are interested. |

You are not in breech of copyright if this was photographed from the side walk or a public place - I photograph hundreds of buildings both business and residential every year that get published and all are OK if they can be seen from a public place. |

anyways...going back to the original post. I don't see any cast to the image. However, if you have a mismatch in color profiles a cast might be introduced along the way. In photoshop you can look at the image with a particular color profile to see what it will look like. I don't recall the exact process (I learned it in class and since I don't have photoshop at home I haven't had an opportunity to try it out)

The image is in Adobe RGB (1998) colour space. Are you sending it to the printer like this? If so, can your printer handle it?
Trying switching to sRGB or your printer's profile (if you have it).

It's not the copyright that's at issue here, it's the trademark. Now where's that earlier Mustang thread.....?
And could the colour problem relate to the printer profile?

Regarding Copyright ...
The fair use doctrine allows for this type of image only in so far as it is not used for commercial gain. In otherwords, since this image was obviously photographed from a public right away and it is not being posted on a commercial resale site, stock photo site, not appearing in an ad, and not being placed in a commercial portfolio its shouldn't be an issue, any more than having a really nice shot of the Disney Castle. Just don't sell it or release it for profit.
As for the shot itself. Its not terribly interesting, and rather unimpressive. The composition is nice, and the mildly wide angle lens effect is nice.
Maybe if this were an outside shot and if there had been a wet foreground and the reflection of the overall shot reflected in the moisture, that may have added to it.
Keep experimenting though. You're developing a good eye.
