hey everyone!

i've been wanting to get a 5D for the longest now, and so I decided to purchase this bad boy. I'm tooooo pumped. I was going to get it a few weeks ago, but decided to wait a little bit and try to find some codes, etc. well, of course then it went from 2099 to 2199 overnight, so i was stuck paying 2199 (i asked if they would honor the old price, to which they politely said "no")

but, UPS can't get here fast enough...should be here tomorrow! can't wait to see the difference :)

Well done ! I can imagine how excited you must be, that is one great camera. Think I will have to wait until next year before I will be able to go full frame.

Congrats! I still use mine a lot! There are times when FF is the only way to go, and 12.8mp is nothing to sneeze at either.

Everybody with a 1.6x sensor gushes over the Canon 10-22mm EF-S lens. Just think, the 17-40 is practically the same.

i know without a doubt that I am getting the canon 24-70mm f/2.8L

my question is, would i really use my 17-40 that much anymore :S even on my canon 20d it seems a bit too distorted and wide for me.

opinions?

depending what you would use it for most I guess. If you are doing weddings mostly I would say the 24-70 over the 17-40. I use the 17-40 quite a bit but I would love the 24-70 it is a fantastic lens...in saying that so is the other lol..overall it depends on your style. The good thing about the 24-70 tho is the extra reach and the 2.8.. I would lean towards that based on those 2 things.

Got mine on the 26th of Feb and I am still in awe of this thing. The difference from the 350D is amazing. Now time to buy some more glass:)

ok, so i just took this badboy out of the box...and i took the time to realize where the ISO Extention settings were, and i feel like an idiot b/c i had no clue my old 20D was capable of ISO 3200 LOL

but, this camera is amazing...thanks so much everyone that helped me decide on this, it was not a hard decision whatsoever ;)

i put the 17-40 on and it was unbelievable! i can't imagine what the 10-20 would look like...SHEESH hah
