Well, almost a two page spread plus another page in the magazine with another of my shots (see below).

The right third of this image shares the page with the table of contents but I'm not complaining. I'm finally getting paid for my pictures with paychecks instead of kitesurfing gear.

This is the first of two shots that Kitworld Magazine used in their latest issue. This is actually the second issue that contains shots that I am now getting paid for. After I was asked for the original shot that the magazine had heard about from a contributing writer, they provided me a username and password to their FTP site so that I can upload loads of images for them to pick from. They used one of them for a full page in the previous issue.

The shot is very similiar to this one that I uploaded last month:

Both of these were taken the morning of the 60 mile Jupiter to Fort Lauderdale Downwind Kiteboarding Race. The guy on the beach setting up his rig is Ken, a friend of mine that is in many of my kitesurfing shots.

This is the second of the two shots that Kiteworld Magazine used in issue # 32:

This was taken as the majority of the riders had just passed the pier that I was shooting from. Most of them are about two miles into the race with 58 miles to go.

Congrats Robert. I know how you love your cameras. It is good to see that you are getting published and paid for it.
For some reason, in the last photo, they look like moving targets to me?

Well, in a way they were. They all left the beach and had to go far enough off shore to clear the end of the pier where I was. My plan was to get shots of them as they passed the pier about a mile from the start of the race. It all happened much faster than I expected and I had both telephoto lenses on the two cameras. It was like a skeet shooter with more targets than he could shoot at when I was trying to get individual shots with telephoto lenses at close range.

It was comical and another learning experience.
