I wonder if there's a correlation between the voting results and the point in time when the image was submitted... In other words, do last-minute submissions rate higher than ones that were submitted on the first day? I wonder if it pays be be a procrastinator (read "thorough planner") |

I'd say it's person to person. I've done well (and extremely poorly) each way. I will say that submitting early greatly increases my desire to bail out as the submission period closes. |

How would it pay, unless it gives the photographer more time to produce the image?

My highest scorer was submitted within an hour of the challenge being announced so I can't say whether procrastinating is key to success..

I don't think it matters that much. The pollution one I submitted the first day and it's in the high 6s right now and looks to be a PB. One other I submitted on the first day is my lowest score. In general I do tend to wait hoping inspiration will strike prior to the deadline. :)
