As a couple of you were discussing Time Lapse photography on other threads, I thought it would be fun to capture a fashion shoot I did with Ella Manor on Sunday as a time lapse.
Enjoy.
P.S. I know it's not very well edited. I was using Windows Movie Maker, which took 7 hours to open the file and crashed so many times while doing this that I just gave up. Next time I'll get some more stable software. I wanted to take out some of the less exciting parts and add some of the final images into the mix, but alas I gave up.

Thanks for that, it was neat. When I see motion blur in that clip, is it my eyes creating that blur or is it in the video?
7 hours? You are a patient man. |

The motion blur is actually because I had to shoot without a flash (because it disturbed the lighting for the main shoot) so the shutter was often open for a second or two under the low light causing moving people to blur.
I forgot to add before that this might have been fun to see for people looking at how lighting is set-up. I'm still learning, but it doesn't seem to be that difficult actually.

Very nice, Sam. I'd love to sit in (or even help) on a shoot someday, just to see it in person. Can you point to some of the finished photos from that shoot? It would be interesting to see what you got from that set-up.
Also, how long was the shoot itself? Several hours? All day? I'm sure you were worn out by the end, but I also have to say my sympathies were with the model. It seemed when he was getting made up for the final section that he was beginning to droop!

I'll be sorting out a 'sit-in' experience later this year actually, so in case I forget, add your email to the photo safari mailing list and you'll get alerts about events like that.
We were there from 9am to 4.30pm. It's a long day. And we now have hundreds of images to edit. I was actually not the photographer this time, it was Ella Manor, an up-and-coming Israeli artist, so she has all the images, but I'll certainly share when they are ready.
And as for the model, he practically froze. The room was cold and there was no hot water at the end of the day for him to have a hot shower to get all the black body paint off. So a cold shower it was! And because we only had that one day for 5 costume changes, we skipped lunch. We were all starving by the end!
