hi ya Everyone
now for some reason when i go to save the image from raw to jpeg in the dropdown area its not listed as an option {it was untill the other day}
i dont recall doing anything different

i am stuffed as to whats happened or how to fix it
any ideas?

Don't have an answer but can you clarify which version of photoshop you've got - it might help.

Do you have more than one layer in your image? Flatten the layers to be able to save a jpeg.

Is the image in 16-bit mode? Switch to 8-bit mode to save as a jpeg.

Have you converted the image to a mode other than RGB? (Grayscale, duotone, etc) Switch back to RGB to save as a jpeg.

Lisa it is CS2
and David thanks mate that was the problem when i changed it from 16 to 8-bit mode it saved to jpeg
it was driving me nuts trying to workout what it was
now i can sleep at last
